Job Description:
The role of the Vendor/CM Manager is to implement and drive the company’s global strategic supply objectives through Asian sourcing and to establish a business network with raw material, machined part, injection-molded part suppliers in Asia. This person will also manage the company’s relationships with contract manufacturers (CM’s) that perform cable assembly termination or provide other non-value-added services to the company.
Responsibilities:
1.Perform vendor selection – i.e. facilitate the qualification, validation, and quality assurance assessment of vendors and CM’s being considered for inclusion on the company’s approved vendor list (AVL). The person in this role is responsible for making vendor selection decisions. This should be done in concert with the quality engineer and relevant process/product engineers.
2.Coordinate periodic vendor/CM audits, and determine/drive any corrective actions that arise from these audits.
3.Work with vendors to ensure component/material/finished product supply meets required quality standards and delivery time.
4.Maintain “partner” relationships with vendors and CM’s, and enable them to develop strategies for meeting the company’s anticipated future material/finished product demands. |
